Fondazione CARIPLO

The Fondazione Cariplo is an Italian philanthropic foundation that conducts philanthropic activities in four key areas: environment, arts and culture, research, and social and human services.
The Fondazione Cariplo and Agropolis Fondation signed two partnership agreements aimed at promoting joint actions involving scientists and researchers in France, Italy and the developing countries, in a joint effort to contribute to knowledge sharing and scientific capacity building.

  • 16 September 2011: signing of a partnership agreement aimed at supporting projects in the rice agri-food sector (Launch of the FIRST Call for proposals)
  • 6 September 2012: signing of a partnership agreement aimed at supporting agricultural and agri-food projects centred on cereals (Launch of the CERES Call for proposals)
Both entities build on their respective strengths, including their network of partners and their capacity to raise funds to foster synergies in the promotion of scientific excellence and relevance while maximising impact.
The two foundations also signed a partnership agreement on 31 October 2015 with the Fondation Daniel & Nina Carasso in order to launch a joint effort on the sustainability of agricultural and food systems – the Thought for Food Initiative –, placing the emphasis on the systemic, integrative nature of this topic.
