Launching of 2012 Louis Malassis International Scientific Prize



The Prize aims to recognize individuals, or a group of individuals, for their exemplary and promising contribution in promoting agricultural innovation in order to improve food and agricultural systems sustainability as well as contribute to addressing food security and poverty reduction through research, development and/or capacity building in the North, South or in the Mediterranean.

Established in 2009, the International Prize is named after Louis Malassis, a French agronomist and agro-economist, an ardent supporter of farmers' cause, and founder of Agropolis.

The Louis Malassis International Scientific Prize consists of two categories: Distinguished Scientist for those with PhD and 15 years of professional experience; and Young Promising Scientist for those with PhD and five years of professional experience. The laureates receive a trophy and a €20000 prize.
