The results of the two Joint for Proposals are now available.

Agropolis Fondation and Fondazione Cariplo provide €2M to 4 projects on rice

Four projects were selected under the 2012 Agropolis Fondation-Fondazione Cariplo Joint Call for Proposals "FIRST (French Italian Rice Science and Technology)." These projects concern excellent and potentially high-impact research on rice.

The four selected projects involve partners from France and Italy as well as from the south and international agricultural research centers and initiatives, notably GRISP (Global Rice Science Partnership).

Eight proposals were submitted under this Call for a combined funding request of €4.8M, the full cost of all the projects being €11.2 M. The proposals were evaluated by international experts using the criteria listed in the Call's Terms of Reference.

Below are the four projects selected under this Call:

Agropolis Fondation and CAPES support 5 new projets

Five projects involving French, Brazilian and African scientists were selected under the 2011 Agropolis Fondation-CAPES (Brazilian Federal Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education) Joint Call for Proposals (CfP).

This Call was carried out within the framework for common action in promoting scientific cooperation between France and Brazil as outlined in the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed by the two institutions on 01 July 2010. This Agreement also provides for the possible involvement of African countries in a joint effort to contribute to knowledge sharing and scientific capacity building.

Below are the five projects selected under this Call:

  • COFDROnet

Coffee genetic diversity in relation to drought tolerance)
Team: Pierre Marraccini (AGAP, CIRAD/France), Alan Carvalho Andrade (Cenargen, Bresil), Joseph A. Mouen Bedimo (IRAD, Cameroun)

  • Plant Hubs
Protein-protein interaction mapping between effectors of root-knot nematodes and virus with Hub proteins encoded by plants of agronomical values
Team: Diana Fernandez (RPB, IRD/France), Rodrigo da Rocha Fragoso (Embrapa, Brésil), Irénée Somda (INERA, Burkina Faso)

  • Cocoa genomic selection
Genomic selection to improve cocoa disease resistance and yield
Team: Christian Cilas (BAMR, CIRAD/France), Claire Lanaud (AGAP, CIRAD/France), Karina Gramacho (CEPLAC/CEPEC, Brésil), Ives Bruno (IRAD, Cameroun), Efombagn Mousseni (IRAD, Cameroun)
