
The Foundation’s partnership with CAPES (Brazilian Federal Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education) is defined in a Memorandum of Agreement between the two institutions signed on 01 July 2010. The Memorandum outlines the framework for scientific cooperation between the two institutions through research and training in agriculture and sustainable development in France and in Brazil.
It also provides for the possible involvement of African countries in a joint effort to contribute to knowledge sharing and scientific capacity building. This collaboration is implemented through joint Calls for Proposals, which will support joint projects and university partnerships on interdisciplinary and integrated plant research that promote the exchange and mobility of professors, scientists, researchers and students in France, Brazil and African countries. The first Joint Call was launched on 07 July 2010.

Agropolis Fondation launched its 2010 Joint Call for Proposals (CfP) together with CAPES.This 2010 Joint CfP targets interdisciplinary and integrated approach to plants that address development issues concerning the North and the South.
A total of five projects were selected for funding.
