Our ambition is to make a significant difference to society and to the natural world through robust, high-impact and socially relevant research.
We are convinced that answers to the most pressing challenges of ensuring food security, sustainable agriculture and environmental management will only be found through working at the interface between agriculture and other disciplines: economics, mathematics and information sciences, chemistry and social sciences, as well as the industrial and economic sectors such as water and health.
Our innovative approach is also underpinned by access to the most advanced research techniques and facilities. High throughput genotyping analysis, comparative genetics and genomics, new mathematical tools for plant and ecosystem modeling, development of advanced databases and new approaches to integrated, participatory and interdisciplinary research are all central to the Foundation's approach to top quality research.
We aim at creating breakthroughs that will contribute to the development of a knowledge-based bio-economy. The international community can make use of the outstanding pool of talent and experience in Montpellier, home to one of the world's largest concentration of expertise in the food, agriculture and environment sectors. Collaboration between this group and other top scientists from around the world is at the heart of what we do.
