The Call for proposals 2009-02 "Computational Plants and Ecosystems" concerns all categories of support. If the proposal is a request for a "package" which includes a mix of funding categories requiring both a one-stage and two-stage review process, should the proponent submit two separate proposals?
It depends on the strategy of the proponent, which must be driven by the objectives, expected outputs and the urgency of the proposed project.
If two separate proposals are submitted, the likelihood to receive funding at once is higher for a proposal requiring a one-stage review process. However, the proponent will miss the opportunity to show the potential structuring effect of the proposed Initiative originally designed as a "package".
Should a proponent decide to submit two separate proposals, it is suggested that a reference on the linkage between the proposals as well as reasons for submitting them separately be clearly stated in the document.

A research unit has one scientist expatriated abroad. Can this research unit request funding to host a scientist (Funding Category 5: Visiting Fellowship) in his laboratory?
The Foundation accords priority to supporting visiting scientists conducting their research with a team based in Montpellier or Avignon.
If the request for a Visiting Fellow is submitted by an expatriated member of a research unit belonging to the Foundation's scientific network and the requesting party is the only one from his/her research unit based overseas, he/she may apply for a Small Grant (specifically Category 8c, Overseas travel grants for Doctoral and Post-doctoral scientists) where the doctoral or post-doc scientist may conduct part of his research abroad.
If the request for a Visiting Fellow is submitted by a group of expatriated scientists from a research unit belonging to the Foundation's scientific network, the proposal may be considered for funding on the condition that part of the work of the Visiting Fellow will also be carried out in Montpellier or Avignon.
