Agropolis Fondation Small Grants

Agropolis Foundation offer various small grants. It can (co-) organize and sponsor thematic seminars, workshops and training. It also offers various accompanying measures to support research through travel grants, publication, preparation of research proposals, etc.These support awards are given on a competitive basis. Calls for Proposals (CfP) are launched on a regular basis. Each Call specifies the terms and the type of support award to be provided by the Foundation under a given Call.

The following are the Foundation's various small grants:

  1. Support for the organization of high-level scientific events (conferences, seminars)
  2. Support for the preparation of application to international calls for proposals (e.g. recruitment of fixed-term staff or consultant in developing proposals...)
  3. Overseas travel grants for Doctoral or post-doctoral students wishing to conduct part of their research abroad*
  4. "Release from teaching duties" aimed at contributing to the attainment of Foundation's objectives**
  5. Support for publication and dissemination of research results
  6. Support for small exploratory, risky and innovative projects (proof-of-concept studies, new frontier research) concerning either research or training through research
  7. Support to hosting pre-doctoral students

The small grants are evaluated on the basis of scientific excellence, international visibility, potential partnership impacts as well as its strategic importance and relevance.

* For Overseas Travel Grants, the proposal should (1) involve at least one partner team abroad, (2) include the CV of the candidate(s), (3) involve joint supervision of research units/organizations involved and (4) have federative function, i.e., facilitating the crossover of fields and laboratories.

** "Release from teaching duties" are for Montpellier SupAgro Assistant Professors/Professors working with the Foudnation's research units.
