Agro-ecosystems suffer from attacks by established or introduced pathogens that can have major economic consequences for crops. These attacks could increase in a context of globalisation, climate change and a reduction in the use of plant protection products. In this context, the scientific objectives of the BGPI research unit are to understand biotic interactions at different scales, from the gene to the landscape, and to thereby contribute to developing innovative, sustainable agricultural systems to combat diseases of primarily tropical and Mediterranean cultivated plants.
