’MoniBref’

’Exploration of the genetic variability of peach phenolic and triterpenoid com-pounds as natural defense against brown rot’

’Brown rot caused by Monilinia spp. provokes dramatic losses of fruit. In Southern Brazil, the crop losses, after harvest, can be higher than 25%. In France, damages reach the same order of magnitude depending on the year.’

’COFDROnet’

’Genetic diversity of coffee trees for drought tolerance’

’Plants exchanged under this project are being evaluated (phenotypic) within trials established in Brazil (EMBRAPA), French Guyana (CIRAD) and Cameroon (IRAD), following exchanges of plant materials that were made officially through signed MTAs between partners. Exchanges will continue in 2014, including the transfer to Guyana and to Cameroon of C. arabica F1 hybrids first created in 2012 (H1) then in 2013 (H2) using progenitors from (...)

’Nitrogen fixation in mycorrhizal symbioses of Ceratonia siliqua’

’Has Ceratonia siliqua formed a joint venture with mycorrhizal and nitrogen fixing symbioses? Potential for juvenile tree growth and orchard establishment’

’Among the legumes, three subfamilies are recognized: Papilionoideae, Mimosoideae and Caesalpinioideae. If the first two have overwhelmingly nodulated species, among Caesalpinioideae nodulation concern only 5% of genera. Among the different clades of Caesalpinioideae, the closest to Mimosoideae include the genus Ceratonia. The carob tree, Ceratonia siliqua, is cultivated in the Mediterranean area mainly for its fruits. It is not nodulated but (...)

’Impact of processing on the nutritional qualities of tropical vegetables’

’Nutritional characterisation and impact of processing on the nutritional qualities of tropical vegetables: vitamins C and B9, carotenoids, antioxidants’

’There is lately in Nigeria a decrease in consumption of traditional leafy vegetables, accompagnying increased consumption of imported foods and lack of dietary diversity, leading to increased micronutrient deficiencies. The aim of the project was therefore to evaluate the micronutriment contents of traditional leafy vegetables, some of them growing wild, to identify the most promising source sof micronutrients and have convincing data to (...)
