The UNESCO Chair has developed a muldisciplinary approach (humanities, economics, politics, life sciences and engineering) in activities of training programs (1) and transfer of knowledge (2) in the field of world food systems.
1) Training programs. The Chair backs two trainong courses delivered by Montpellier SupAgro : an Honour Master Degree in Innovations and Policies for Sustainable Food (IPAD) and an engineering course "Innovations in world agrifood systems" (ISAM). Those two training courses have welcomed their first students in september 2011, for whom we have organized a courses unit on "international negotiations and lobbying".
2) Transfer ok knowledge. We have organized two conferences for the scientific community and a broader audience : "Agroecology in questions" at CIRAD, and "Massive destruction: famine geopolitics", with Jean Ziegler, at Montpellier SupAgro.
Our inaugural conference, that took place in january 2012 ("Sustainable food: a common good?", was followed by 350 peoples.
We have created our website as a ressource center and presentation of our different activities.
