The two networks share the same characteristics, namely (i) the existence of important driving forces within the Montpellier community, which are in fact part of the two LabEXs Cemeb and Agro; (ii) the desire to maintain continuity between basic sciences and applied aims in the fields of agro-ecology, veterinary health and human health (feeding, caring and protecting).
The complementary nature of the REID and IMMUNINV networks and their strengths in Montpellier will enable the 2019 edition to (i) strengthen interactions between Montpellier groups whose focus is on biodiversity analysis, agro-ecology or health ecology; and (ii) increase the national visibility of Cemeb/Agro translabex research on the study of sustainable interactions.
In terms of training, this meeting will be a real opportunity for our PhD students (GAIA and CBS2 EDs) to present their work and to become part of a large, structured and dynamic community. This meeting will also be a great opportunity for our master’s students to get acquainted with the diversity of research conducted in these fields. Students specialised in scientific communication will also be in charge of an ’OFF’ animation aiming at disseminating the REID-IMMUNINV-2019 themes.
