Abstract

Support project for the international conference "Recent progress in drought tolerance: from genetics to modelling

The European DROPS project and the European association for plant improvement, EUCARPIA, are getting together to organise an international conference in June 2015 in Montpellier, on drought issues. The aim of this meeting is to transmit the methods and approaches developed in the DROPS project to European breeders. The focus will be on the analysis and development of natural genetic resources, an alternative to GMOs. Advances in genetics, high throughput physiological analysis and modelling, resulting from the DROPS project and other research programmes, will be presented. There will be extensive discussions on the potential use of recent advances in plant breeding.
