The objective of the project is to organise a second international conference in Montpellier on alternative sources of natural rubber (guayule and Kazakh dandelion), 9 years after the European EU-PEARLS project in 2010, which brought together about a hundred scientists, most of whom are linked to the Association for the Advancement of Industrial Crops (AAIC).
More specifically, the aim is to
Promote the meeting of scientists working in the field of these crops, discuss the interest of the development of these two crops for industrialists, invite foreign speakers of international renown in the field, make the results of the projects underway in Montpellier better known,
To interest new farmers from the LR/Occitania region, from France and from southern countries (Morocco, Tunisia, Kenya, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico) in guayule cultivation,
Schedule field visits (agronomic plots and latex production pilot),
To be the European conference associated with the AAIC conference scheduled in Tucson, Arizona in early September 2019.
