The proposed scientific mobility will allow a Cameroonian PhD student involved in the project ‘COSUkola’ being trained in molecular biology and genetics. Besides capacity building aspects, polymorphic molecular markers to characterize the genetic diversity, mating system and gene flow patterns of G. kola will be available. Data acquired on species genetic diversity distribution will provide information on levels and structure of species genetic diversity in Cameroon. These information will be interpreted with regard to local human practices and knowledge. Altogether, the new knowledge will orientate conservation, sustainable management and use of G. kola in the country.
