Abstract

The project aims first at identifying stakeholders and their needs in crop agrobiodiversity analysis and management, then at developing innovative training material (only in English because of budget reduction) that will be released through PAR (Platform for Agrobiodiversity Research) and Agropolis websites.
Activities :
• Analysis of a few projects from the PAR, FAO and Agropolis project portfolio to
precise training needs (4-day meeting in Rome).
• Mobilize required expertise
• Develop relevant training materials (lectures, hands on, role game) (in English)
• Select trainees (MSC/PhD level, students as well as permanent staff, involved in
an on-going agrobiodiversity research/management project)
• Training workshop (2 weeks, in Peradeniya University, Sri Lanka)
• Fieldwork training (6-12 months) and possibly data analysis by trainees, with
support from trainers (each trainee should be visited once, 1-week visit)
• Together with a continuous self assessment process, a debriefing workshop (2
weeks, in Montpellier) with all trainees and trainers : data analysis, improvement
of the content of the training module
• Improvement of the training course (content, materials)
• Make the training materials available (different media including websites)
