Abstract

The main objectives of this conference will be
- to increase the international visibility of the labex Agro research community on (i) the management of eucalyptus plantations in highly productive sites (industrial context) and (ii) low-productivity family plantations to contribute to poverty alleviation, by organising a high-level scientific conference with 200-250 participants (the majority of whom will be from foreign countries).
- Promote interdisciplinary discussions between forest managers and researchers specialised in tree improvement, silviculture, forest pathology, wood technology, and environmental and social sciences.
- strengthen collaborations between French research institutes (notably CIRAD, INRA, CNRS and IRD) and forest scientists and managers in southern Europe (mainly in Spain and Portugal) as well as in tropical countries
- to contribute to the training of students in forestry sciences, in particular from developing countries.
