Initiative for Federating Research and Training in Food Nutrition and Health

Export to PDF

Abstract

The general objective is to set up an initiative to structure the scientific community (Montpellier-Avignon) on food and nutrition (including health) in order to share our skills, to give coherence between research-education-development, to increase our visibility, and to produce a detailed strategic document in this field. This initiative is fully integrated into the MUSE triptych: care (health approach to food), feed, protect (environmental impact of food systems). It is also closely linked to the Unesco Chair "Food of the World".

The detailed objectives are
- to establish a map of research and teaching in food-nutrition-health (Montpellier-Avignon) and permanent national and international collaborations (academic and non-academic partnerships);
- to promote meetings within the "food-nutrition-health" scientific community
- to identify 3 major original research areas around which we could federate multidisciplinary projects based on our complementary skills.
