Membrane processes are increasingly used in industry, particularly in the food and green chemistry sectors. They can be used to carry out a wide range of separation operations (clarification, sterilisation, concentration, solute fractionation, etc.) while requiring little energy and limiting the production of effluents. There are currently many innovations around these low environmental impact processes: new applications, emergence of new processes, reduction in application costs, etc. The development of these technologies and their transfer to industry obviously requires partnerships between the academic sectors, which carry out research in relation to these processes, and the user companies, which need high-performance and sustainable technologies to carry out separations.
It is in this context that the MEMPRO congresses have been organised every 3 to 4 years for the past 20 years (2000 Lyon, 2003 Montpellier, 2006 Nancy, 2010 Aix en Provence, 2014 Toulouse, 2017 Saint-Malo). Supported by the French Membrane Club (CFM) and the French Process Engineering Society (SFGP), they bring together between 100 and 150 participants. They represent a very good opportunity for exchanges between the private and academic sectors, technology transfer and the emergence of new projects.
Montpellier has been chosen this year to host the 7th edition of this congress focused on the applications of membrane processes: MEMPRO 7
The objective of this scientific event is to bring together the vision of industrial users and scientists on technological advances in the field of membranes. The audience of the congress is thus composed of approximately 50% industrial users and 50% researchers and teacher-researchers from the academic world.
In particular, the aim is to
• Promote exchanges between industrialists and academics, between equipment manufacturers and users,
• To make known the latest industrial developments in membrane processes,
• Disseminate the most recent knowledge and research results to encourage innovation in membrane technologies and processes and processes,
• To position membrane processes in relation to the major challenges of tomorrow, identify the new research needs of the industry.
