Abstract

The objective of this request is to contribute to the animation of regional reflection on the strategies and innovations necessary for a successful transition of the plant production sectors, by structuring an interdisciplinary and participative reflection on the technological and social innovation paths that are built in interaction with cities and transform the plant sectors, in Occitania in particular, as an exemplary ground of more general trends. The transition at stake is to move from the petro-economy to the bio-economy, from the agro-industrial model to models that value diversity - whether at the technological, economic, environmental or social level -, the participation of stakeholders and equity in exchanges.
In particular, it seems vital to bring together researchers specialising in the food sector with those working in the non-food sector, i) by overcoming the divide between long and short channels, ii) by seeking to cover the range of skills required for a systemic approach to innovations and channels (technology, agronomy, genetics, microbiology, nutrition, artificial intelligence, sociology, etc.), nutrition, artificial intelligence, sociology, economics, marketing, organisational sciences), iii) by opening up the network to urban research but also to innovation stakeholders, iv) by linking research and training, by involving students, particularly doctoral students, in the discussions but also by strengthening links with agricultural, agri-food and territorial training professionals.
