Abstract

My outbound international mobility will aim at two main objectives:
(i) Establish a collaborative network with national researchers from the region (Indonesia and Malaysia) to develop joint proposals on key regional NTFP species;
(ii) (ii) initiate a research project on socio-economically important NTFP species through the supervision of an Indonesian PhD student, Jakty Kusuma a faculty member of Lampung State Polytechnic (LSP; Bandar Lampung, Indonesia). The PhD thesis focuses Indonesian nutmegs (Myristica fragrans, M. fatua and M. argentea). The species are cultivated for their seeds and maces, used as spices locally (all three species) or worldwide (M. fragrans). My mobility will allow meeting the student, defining his PhD objectives and conducting with him part of his sampling.
