The project to develop a space for dialogue between research and society in Occitania was born out of the dynamics of the "1st Science-Society Conferences" organised in July 2017 in Montpellier by the Maison des Sciences de l’Homme Sud with the support of the Occitanie Region. This project is part of the regional dynamic currently at work around collaborative research and is inspired by the "Science Shop" model. It aims to develop sustainable synergies between research, higher education and civil society, by promoting the emergence of a Science-Society ecosystem associating researchers, students, public and private field actors and citizens around a territorial interface structure in Occitania. Its particularity is to offer the possibility to territorial actors to co-construct research cooperations based on their field concerns.
The co-construction of an innovative system, supported by MSH Sud, has been underway since June 2017, through the implementation of experimental and structuring projects for the system.
The present agreement aims at financing the operation of the Science Boutique by financing the animation and the accompaniment of project and two thematic training courses resulting from requests of the civil society. These courses will focus on
1) The role of farmer selection in the performance of the Tarassac onion in an agroecological cropping system (evolutionary genetics)
2) Impact of farmer selection on interactions with mycorrhizae and the performance of the Tarassac onion in an agroecological cropping system (micro-biology)
